Overview: WIld yam root powder is derived from the pulverized tubers of dioscorea villosa. It is traditionally used to relieve colic symptoms and to lessen the pain of rheumatism. It is also used in Japan as a fertility treatment and to relieve pain during childbirth.
It has antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties which makes it a common treatment for easing menstrual cramps and chronic pelvic pain.
