Overview: White kidney bean extract is a compound derived from Phaseolus vulgaris that is commonly marketed as a weight loss aid. It contains phaseolamin, an α-Amylase blocker that binds to and breaks down starches. It also contains phytohemagglutinin, a lectin that binds to the receptors of the intestinal lining and decreases the release of hormones such as ghrelin which helps suppress appetite.
