Overview: Fenugreek seed powder is derived from the seeds of the fenugreek plant. It has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a treatment for skin conditions and many other diseases. It is also a popular ingredient in INdian cuisine because of its nutritional profile and the flavor it imparts to food.
Fenugreek seeds contain contain protein, vitamin C, niacin, potassium, and diosgenin (which is a compound that has properties similar to estrogen). It also contains alkaloids, lysine and L-tryptophan, as well as steroidal saponins (diosgenin, yamogenin, tigogenin, and neotigogenin).
Common Dosage: 2 to 5 grams per day
