Overview: Tribulus Terrestris 45% P.E. is a plant extract derived from an annual plant in the caltrop family (Zygophyllaceae) widely distributed around the world. It is concentrated at a ratio of 4:7.

It has a long history of being used in Chinese and Indian medicine for boosting libido and fertility, flushing fluid buildup (edema), reducing kidney stones, and fighting urinary infections.

It contains active components such as the alkaloids harmande, nonharmane, and tribulusterine, phenolic amides such as terrestrosides Ab and b, tannins, phytosterols, cinnamic acid, vanillic acid, tribulus acid, and the amino acids alanine and threonine.

These components give this compound libido-enhancing, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Common Dosage: The dosage for tribulus terrestris depends on the intended use. For increasing libido and sexual function and lowering blood sugar, the dosage ranges from 250 mg to 1500 mg divided into three doses. Meanwhile for cholesterol-lowering effects, the dosage per day is between 1 g to 3 g.
