Overview: Silymarin is best known for its protection against the liver disease. It alters liver cell membranes and inhibits toxin uptake while stimulating cell regeneration.
Silymarin also has potent antioxidant activity that helps to quell inflammation and replenish glutathione which is a chief antioxidant inside most living cells and plays as the main defense against free radical damage found in high concentrations of the liver. It also protects against nerve damage and abnormal brain aging as well as slowing down the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
