Overview: Red Marine Algae or Gigartina powder is dried and pulverized red seaweeds that belong to class Rhdophyta. It is a popular food source throughout Asia. It contains protein, vitamins, trace minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. It is a rich source of sulfated polysaccharides which are complex sugars containing sulfur. It is touted for its ability to improve immune function.
It may also be used in skincare applications. When applied topically, it moisturizes, hydrates, and firms the skin.
