Origin: Derived from animal milk

Overview: Micellar casein is a group of phosphoproteins commonly found in milk. It is rich in amino acids, carbohydrates, calcium, and phosphorus. It has many applications including making paint glue, plastics, and fiber, and medical and dental uses.

However, it is notable for its role in cheesemaking as well as in protein supplements. It forms a gel in the stomach making it an efficient nutrient supply. It provides a slow release of amino acids into the bloodstream making it an excellent post-workout supplement.
