Overview: DMAE Bitartrate is the precursor to choline. It plays a central role in the formation of acetylcholine. DMAE Bitartrate reduces the buildup of what is known as age pigment which impairs cognitive function and is implicated in the cognitive decline with age. DMAE Bitartrate is also said to protect neurons and other cells from the harmful effects of certain types of oxidation by acting as an anti-oxidant as well as sustaining metabolic processes through the body.
